Graphs are pictorial representation of data so as to make it more understandable for the users. Initially the information was  communicated via text only. The users needed to read all the text in order to analyse any result. Many times it became difficult to analyse data accurately and efficiently. This was when graphs were began to be used in the system.

  1. Easy to understand-A graph is always easy to understand. Due to its easy methods of plotting. Making graphs is a very convenient way of understanding information.
  2. Better analysis- one can draw conclusion and understand the progressing pattern of anything quiet easily via graphs as they give you a pictorial view of the same.
  3. Better comparisons- there are many types of graphs used which have different characteristics which make it easy to compare data of various forms like bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts etc.
  4. More information in less words- using graphs we can easily provide much information in less words as they need just two axis to indicate plenty of data.
