The purpose of death is to make room for the next generation, in every species on earth. Even trees that can live for a thousand years die eventually. Vitamins and doctors only forestall the inevitable, they allow people to live longer by a few years, nothing more. The human body begins to deteriorate the older it gets. Eyes fail having been used every day for eighty years, kidneys, liver, intestines, skin. All these systems wear out over time, they are designed to.

As to why people are afraid of death, it’s because by that age they have become attached to their bodies. In reality when we die, the time between incarnations is brief and most of us choose to return to a human body, though not all. If more people understood this things would probably be different.

Death is a significant and inevitable part of life. Thinking and talking about it, understanding how you feel and what you believe, and sharing your wishes with your loved ones and medical team can give you peace of mind and allow others to take care of you in accordance to your wishes.
