Maglev Train moves forward on the principle of repulsion of two similar magnetic poles, when kept in close contact with each other, Now basically, illustrating in a very simple language, the polarities of rails and bottom portion of trains are kept same, since they have same polarities they begin to repel each other, and hence the train begins to float in air.
Now, question arises "Why are we doing so?" Well, reason behind this is - When the train begins to float in air, it has no contact with ground, and no contact with ground means no ground friction acts opposite to the motion of train, which gives the train a very good advantage by giving it ultimate level of high speeds.
