Classical Mechanics( Newtonian Mechanics) deals only at the macroscopic level. It fails at the atomic level. So a new type of mechanics was introduced to deal with the atomic particle. The most used formula in quantum mechanics is E = hf, where h = planks constant and f is the frequency. In this mechanics, quantization is used, which means that energies are in the form of packets.

Answer:Quantum mechanics, including quantum field theory, is a fundamental theory in physics which describes nature at the smallest scales of energy levels of atoms and subatomic particles. Classical physics, the physics existing before quantum mechanics, describes nature at ordinary scale.
