what is the radius of an atom???

  • Atoms are in plenty of different sizes; it depends on the amount of subatomic particles it consists of.

Atoms are mainly made of three particles:

  • Protons- in the nucleus (central part) of the atom with a +1 charge and a relative mass of 1

  • Neutrons- in the nucleus (central part) of the atom with a charge of 0 and a relative mass of 1

  • Electron- found in shells around the nucleus (central part) of the atom with a charge of -1 and a relative mass of 1/1836

Answer:

radius of an atom compared to its nucleus.

Explanation:

for understanding the size of nucleus & radius of an atom let us assume

a circular cricket field = radius of an atom

& a small cricket ball = nucleus of the atom

by these example of my assumption you can get an idea of that, how radius is big compared to its nucleus on an atom.

NOTE: THESE EXAMPLE IS FOR VISUALISING THE SIZE OF AN ATOM & ITS NUCLEUS(ORIGINALLY ITS MICROSCOPIC!!)
