Rooftop rainwater harvesting is technique that is used to conserve water to be used in the months of less rainfall.
In this technique during the rainy season water is allowed to fall on the roof of houses and through a pipe the water is collected in the underground tanks.

rainwater harvesting is collecting and storing rainwater which includes activities aimed at-
1- harvesting surface and ground water
2- prevention of losses through evaporation and seepage
3- all other hydrological studies and engineering intervention aimed at conservation nd efficient utilisation of the limited water endowment of an area such as watershed
