 \huge{ \underline{ \underline{ \sf{ \red{The  \: \: pH  \: \: Scale}}}}}

This scale is used for measuring the concentration of hydrogen ions in anything. The p in pH stands for potenz which means power.

The pH has values ranging from 0 - very acidic to 14 - very alkaline.

  • If pH > 7, then the solution is basic.
  • If pH < 7, then the solution is acidic.
  • Id pH = 7, then the solution is neutral.

pH is a number which tells us about the acidic or basic nature of a solution or a substance.

The range of pH, as asked in the question is 0 to 14.

Additional Information :

 \sf{Importance \: Of \: \: pH \: Everywhere}

  • Plants and animals are pH sensitive.

Our body works normally within the pH range of 7.0 to 7.8

  • pH change leads to tooth decay.

Our tooth enamel is made up of calcium phosphate. If the pH in our mouth goes below 5.5, i.e acidic, the tooth decay of the enamel takes place.

  • pH is the cause for acid rain.

When pH of rain goes below 5.6, it causes acid rain.
