ii) 14:3

Explanation:

i) Atomic mass of carbon = 12 u

Atomic mass of oxygen = 16u

Number of oxygen atom is 2

Thus total atomic mass of oxygen = 16×2= 32u

Ratio of masses = 12/32

= 3/8

= 3:8

ii) Atomic mass of nitrogen = 14u

Atomic mass of hydrogen = 1 u

No. of hydrogen atom is 3

Thus total atomic mass of hydrogen is 3u

Ratio of masses = 14/3

= 14:3
