What is the ratio of electric field at a point due to a dipole along the axial line to the electric field at the same point along the equatorial line

Electric field due to dipole at :

  • Axial point = k*2p/r³
  • Equitorial point = k*p/r³

Therefore,

Ratio of electric fields due to dipole at axial point and equitorial point

= (k*2p/r³) / (k*p/r³)

= 2:1
