In the SI (International System of Units), acceleration is expressed in meters per square second (m/s^2). In CGS (centimeter-gram-second) units, all distances are expressed in centimeters as opposed to meters, and time continues to be expressed in seconds. Thus meters are multiplied by 100 (100centimeters = 1 meter) and seconds stay the same.

So 1 m/s^2 = 100 cm/ s^2
