reduction half :-
[Ag(NH3)2]+ + e- --------> Ag + 2NH3 .....(1)
oxidation half :-
CH3-CHO + 3OH- -------> CH3-COO- + 2H2O + 2e- ....(2)
mutliply (1) by 2 and add in (2)
2[Ag(NH3)2]+ + 2e- --------> 2Ag + 4NH3
CH3-CHO + 3OH- -------> CH3-COO- + 2H2O + 2e-
2e- will cancel out from both side....
2[Ag(NH3)2]+ + CH3-CHO + 3OH- ----------> 2Ag + 4NH3 + CH3COO- + 2H2O
