Explanation:

1/R=1/R1 + 1/R2

= 1/5 + 1/5

= 2/5 ohm

R = 5/2 = 2.5 ohm

V = I*R

5 = I*2.5

I = 5/2.5 = 2A

V = I*R

5 = I1*5

I1 = 1A

Similarly, I2 = 1A

Answer:

I2 = 2A , I1 = 1A

Explanation:

Q15. Two resistors each = 5 ohm = 5 + 5 = 10 ohms

Potential difference = 5V

According to ohm's law

V = IR

5 = (5 + 5 ) I

5 = 10I

I = 5 / 10

I = 1/2 = 2.5 A

Q16 .

According to ohms law

V = ( I R )

R1 = 5 ohm

5V = ( 5 I1)

I1 = 1A

Potential difference across any resistors parallel remains same

V = (IR )

R2 = 2.5 = 5/2 ohms

5V = 5/2 I2

I2 = 2A
