What is the real reason for the success of federalism in India?
Answers
there are many moral and prudential reasons too
The following are the real reason for the success of federalism in India:
1. Linguistic States: After the independent states based on language (the natives spoke) were created in India e.g. Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra etc.
2. Language Policy: The leaders of our nation maintained a very careful approach while developing the language policy. For instance, Hindi, which was spoken by about 40% of the Indian population, was made the National language while other languages were also added in the Scheduled Languages.
3. Centre-state Relations: After the independence of India there were only a few political parties that made the government at the state and central level. However, this situation changed after 1990 when regional parties came into existence. This situation led to an era of power sharing.
