Archimedes’ principle, physical law of buoyancy, discovered by the ancient Greek mathematician and inventor Archimedes, stating that any body completely or partially submerged in a fluid (gas or liquid) at rest is acted upon by an upward, or buoyant, force, the magnitude of which is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body.

The human skeleton is the internal framework of the human body. It is composed of around 270 bones at birth – this total decreases to around 206 bones by adulthood after some bones get fused together. The bone mass in the skeleton makes up about 14% of the total body weight and reaches maximum density around age 21.

Ans . 1 - Archimedes principle is based on: when a body is immersed fully or partially in a fluid , it experiences an upward force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it.

  • Applications of Archimedes principle -
  1. Lcatometers , hydrometers.

Ans. 2 - Skeltal system consist of a framework of bones and a few cartilages . This system has a significant role in movement shown by the body . In human beings this system is made up of 206 bones and few cartilages.

  • It is grouped into teo principle divisions the axial and the appendicular Skelton. Axial Skelton comprises 80 bones distributed along the classification of bones main axis of the body.
  • The skull , vertebral column, sternum and ribs constitute axial Skelton. The bones if limb along with girdles constitute the appendicular Skelton. Each limb is made up of 30 bones.

Function of Skelton System -:

  • Provide support
  • Provide posture
  • Protection
  • some bones act like levers
  • Blood cell production Energy storage
  • Help in movement
  • storage of minerals
