What is the reason behind regular formation of muscle cramps in cricketers?

since they do lots of physical activities, they require more o2 for release of more energy but the supply of o2 is limited. Thus to get more o2 the muscles respire anaerobically and produce lactic acid which causes muscles cramps.
it can be treated by massage or hot water bath.
