The rear view mirror of the car is used instead of plane mirror because of the following reasons:-
1. The convex mirror will give a wider field of view but the plane mirror will not.
2. The convex mirror will allow us to see an erect although diminished image of a larger area

we actually use a convex mirror instead of plane mirror for rear view in cars
it is because a convex mirror covers more wide area that is you would be able to have a broader view of whatever is present at the back of your car on the road
