Copper wires are mostly used in homes because It withstands higher temperatures than aluminium does, and it doesn't corrode to the same effect. Because of its long life and resistance to damage, it doesn' t need replaced nearly as often. On the other hand, copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire because it has a high melting point(1094 deg C approx). Copper will not melt easily when a high electric current passes through it and may damage the electrical appliances so we cannot use it everywhere.
