What is the reason for filling nitrogen in an incandescent lamp?

Nitrogen is used in electric bulbs since the gas provides an inert atmosphere. The bulb has tungsten filament which gets oxidised easily and nitrogen is required to make the environment inert.Thus, the reason that Nitrogen is colourless, odourless and tasteless gas is incorrect to explain why nitrogen is used in electric bulbs.
