In regular reflection a parallel beam of incident light is reflected as a parallel beam in one direction. Regular reflection of light occurs from a smooth surface is like that of a plane mirror or highly polished metal surfaces. A plane mirror produces regular reflection of light.

All the particles of a smooth surface like a plane mirror facing in One Direction. Due to this the angle of incidence for all the parallel rays of light falling on a smooth surface is the same and hence the angle of reflection for all the rays of light is also the same.

In plane mirror the image is virtual, erect( same side up as the object, because both the object and image have arrowhead at the top ), and of the same size as the object.

A virtual image is formed when light rays coming from an object only appear to meet at a point when produced backwards (but do not actually meet) after reflection from a mirror.

Regular reflection of light occurs from smooth surfaces like mirror.

When parallel beam of light falls on the smooth surface of a plane mirror, it is reflected as a parallel beam in only one direction thus, a plane mirror produces regular reflection of light.

In regular reflection of light, all the particles of a smooth surface like plane mirror are facing in one direction
Due to this the angle of incidence for all the parallel rays of light falling on smooth surface is the same and hence the angle of reflection for all the rays of light is also the same.

Plane mirror produces virtual image means it cannot be captured on the screen but can only be seen in mirror.
Virtual Image is produced when the reflected light rays appears to converge at a point.
Plane mirror produces erect image means upright that is top of object will be top of image. Bottom of object will be bottom of image.
Magnification of plane mirror = +1
Means produces virtual , erect and same image size as object.
