Because so many children are not getting proper nutrient food and government thought that if children will get nutrient food atlest one time in a day then parents also show interest in sending children for school

Because of this scheme-
1. Many poor children have begun enrolling and regularly attending their schools. Thus their attendance had improved.
2. With the help of this scheme, their mothers who had to earlier interrupt their their work to feed their children at home during the day....now no longer need to do so.
3. This has also helped to reduce caste prejudices because both upper and lower caste had to eat the meal together in the school.
4. This program has also helped to reduce hunger of poor students who often come to school but could not concentrate because of their empty stomachs.
