ANSWER:-✌✌

The stars twinkle in the night sky because of the effects of our atmosphere. When starlight enters our atmosphere it is affected by winds in the atmosphere and by areas with different temperatures and densities. This causes the light from the star to twinkle when seen from the ground.

_This is due to atmospheric refraction... the light coming from stars suffers refraction when it enters atmosphere of earth. Atmosphere is not uniform everywhere. Layers of atmosphere closer to earth have more density than those farther from earth.

Each layer refracts light in different quantities. And moreover densities of these layers changes continuously. Thus the effect of irregular refraction and change in densities is seen as *Twinkling_of_starlight*
