The caste discrimination was prevalent from ancient times. Lower caste people is not allowed in any religious activities, they were ill treated.
The upper caste people think them selves as the God. They made this caste based discrimination. There is no perfect reason behind it. The upper want to be happy always live in comfort thus they made the lower cast as working class.
