it is due to the sexual stages of gametocytes that develop in the rbcs...the rupture of rbcs is associated with the release of haemozoin,which is responsible for the high recurring fever and chills.

The reason for shivering in malaria patient is as follows:

  • The malaria is a disease which is caused by the parasite. The parasite is carried by the mosquito which when bite the human body transfers the parasite in the human body.
  • People with malaria feel sickness, high fever and shivering,
  • The parasite enters in the liver and grows there, then the parasite is distributed among the red blood cells where it ruptures the red blood cells, releases a toxic substance that is called as the hemozoin. This toxic is responsible for the shivering in malaria patient.
