Actually, In Doppler's effect of light, when the lights reaches to the observer having more frequency and less wavelength, then it appears that, it shifts itself in such a way that it tends to move towards red colour, this apparent change is called " Red shift in Doppler's effect ".

Generally, redshift and blueshift of Doppler Effect describes how light of a space object shifts closer and further from us. This calculation has been first described by Edwin Hubble, the person whose name has been given for a telescope. This calculation concept has been utilized to calculate how the universe and its objects moving away from us.

The Redshift can also be known as the rest wavelength which means wavelength from an non-motioning object from the space. While considering only the Redshift, there are totally two types of redshift to be studied. They are

  • Gravitational redshift
  • Latter redshift
