Acids releases H+ ions and metals also give their electrons and becomes positively charged.... So both have positive charge...

Acids are the substances that give H+ ions. They are sour and corrosive.
Metal hydroxides are basic in nature i.e they give OH- ions.
We are talking about metals and not metal hydroxides. But we also know that metals are also basic in nature.
★ So when there is a reaction between a metal and acid then hydrogen gas is liberated and metal salt is formed. It can be represented by an equation.
Metal + Acid → Metal salt + H2(g)
