  • Plasma is everything in the Blood minus the Red blood cells so it lacks the red color, appears yellowish. It is mostly water, around 90%.

  • A Blood transfusion can be “Whole Blood” meaning all that is normal in the blood stream, but almost always now it is “Packed RBCs” meaning that the Red cells are subtracted from the watery plasma and thus concentrated, leaving the plasma behind.
