Larger the micro organisms larger the biodegradable matter and larger is degradation process.

Hope it helps!!
Cheers!!

deepakupadhyay1: i dont understand
Steph0303: see more the degradable substance then more bacteria will be available so more degraded

Relationship between BOD, micro-organisms and amount of biodegradable matter:

  • BOD or Biological Oxygen Demand is the amount of oxygen used by the organisms to decompose the waste.
  • The larger of the BOD by the microorganisms related with larger of biodegradable matter.
  • When the BOD is increased then the amount of dissolved oxygen is decreased as the dissolved oxygen is consumed by the bacteria. So the biodegradable matter also increased in nature. If the BOD level is too high then the water is polluted with the microorganisms.
