What is the relationship between potential difference and direction of current flow ?​

Current flows due to Potential difference between two points. It is similar to water flowing from high altitude to low altitude. Potential difference excites the electrons inside the material of the wire used throughout the circuit, due to this excitement the electrons start flowing to the higher potential (positive terminal) & due to their motion, current is directed in the opposite direction to the electron flow
