Pressure is defined as force relative to area.

That ‘area’ is the area of contact of the force.

A point force is independent of area. In the old Imperial units, pounds is actually used as a unit of force, even though we think of the common use as a ‘weight’ of a mass in a gravitational field (shape of space). If I recall, we would have to specify ‘pounds-force’ to be clear, because ‘slugs’ was unfashionable to non-civils and mechanicals.

As we know that,

Pressure ( P ) = Force ( F ) / Area of contact ( A )

Here, Pressure is inversely proportional to area of contact. Means, if area of contact increases, the presure decreses.

For instance, when we shoot bulletvtowards window pane then it makes a perfect hole where as if we throw stone onto it then window will brake.

Because bullet has small area where area in stone is wider than bullet.

Hope it helps
