The peripheral nervous system or PNS contains the nerves, which leave the brain and the spinal cord and travel to certain areas of the body. The peripheral nervous system's main job is to send information gathered by the body's sensory receptors to the CNS as quickly as possible.

The human nervous system is categorized into peripheral nervous system (PNS) and central nervous system (CNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord whereas, the rest falls under the PNS.

Relationship: The relation between the two nervous systems is that the PNS follows the commands provided by the CNS. PNS collects sensory information and sends it to CNS which in turn processes it and responds which makes the PNS to change output.
