What is the relationship between the pH of pond water and the survival rate of animal species living in the pond?

If the pH value of the water is higher than the normal then the living of the animal species will be reduced.

EXPLANATION:

The normal pH value is 7 , if the pH value is less than 7 then the water will be acidic in nature then the living organisms will never survive in the acidic water but if the pH value of the pond water is higher than 7, then the water will be basic or alkaline in nature.

That is also not a suitable condition to live in the water. So the pH of the pond water is related with survival of the animal species living in the pond.
