Turgor pressure is caused by water pushing the cell membrane against the cell wall of cells that have a cell wall (plant, bacteria, fungi etc.) Osmosis moves water into or out of
A turgid cell has a high turgor pressure because the large amount of water inside of the cell pushes the membrane against the inside of the cell wall.

Turgor Pressure(T.P) is defined as the amount of pressure inside a cell solely due to its water content, whereas Osmotic Pressure(Pi) is defined as the pressure required to stop osmotic flow between the cell and a pure solvent when the pressure exerted by water is zero.
