what is the relative reflective index?

adityavarman: Do you mean refractive index.???
adityavarman: because reflection does not require any relation b/w media....
imran1293: no
adityavarman: I 'm sorry... I don't seem to know what relative reflective index means...
adityavarman: maybe you are mistaken b/w reflective and refractive...

The relative refractive index of medium 2 with respect to medium 1 is defined as the ratio of speed of light (v1) in medium 1 to the speed of light (v2) in medium 2 .

Answer:

The ratio of the speed of light in a vacuum to the speed of monochromatic light in the substance of interest. That ratio should be called a relative refractive index. ... The ratio of the first value to the second one is about the relative refractive index of the glass.
