Praying was an integral part of Jainulabdeen’s life and he taught his children the importance of praying. Jainulabdeen found that prayer brought man closer to God and be tolerant. Other than Quran, he taught his children Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Jainulabdeen was A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s father and A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was a very tolerant, practicing Muslim who followed its teachings strictly.

Prayer is nothing mysterious, it is all about communion of the inner soul.
It connects one to the universe and makes one cross the barrier of age, cast, creed and wealth.
It helps one to analyze one's innermost self deeply, as told by APJ Abdul Kalam's father Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen.
