p(X) = x² - 5X + 6

p(Y) = x² + 1 = 0

x² = -1

X = √-1

p(√-1) = (√-1)² - 5(√-1) + 6

= -1 - 5√-1 +6

= 5 - 5√-1

reminder = 5 - 5√-1

Step-by-step explanation:

x(1) = (1)² -5(1)+6

= 1-5+6

= 2

x(-1) = (-1)² -5(-1) +6

= 1+5 +6

=12

on dividing x² +1 we get

-5x+4
