Hello!!

I know this question has been posted before, but since I haven't seen a remotely adequate answer yet I want to add my voice to the choir of complaints.

Having a spell-check feature in Google Search is a good idea, and indicating to the user that they might have misspelled their search term is useful. Automatically assuming that the user misspelled their search is just stupid and significantly hampers the search experience.

Several times a day now I get ridiculous and inaccurate result because Google Search 'wants' me to search for something else than the term I just entered.

It's not even limited to spelling mistakes - when I search for "Google spelling corrections" to find out how to turn off the auto-correct feature, Google Search tells me that it's "Showing results for 'funny Google spelling corrections' instead."

That's how bad it is - your auto-correct feature literally made it more difficult for me to find out how to use Google Search, because you thought I might be more interested in some inane comedy site about spelling corrections. This is of course aggravated ten-fold when I'm searching for foreign terms from google.com - because Google Search (US) thinks that anyone searching for a non-English word is an idiot who needs to have his searches converted into the closest English word.

This feature is monumentally stupid and the inability to turn it off is ridiculously unprofessional.
