B) To compare numbers

  • To compare the numbers is a responsibility of logical unit in CPU of the computer. The logical unit is device or application program by which the end-user (an application program, the terminal user, or an input/output mechanism) gains access to the SNA network.

  • A logical unit is the device or an application program by which the end user (an application program, the terminal user, or a input-output mechanism) gains access to SNA network.

  • In this SAN fabric, LUN storage is very essential for the configuration of environment & the performance. A LUN is an unique identifier given to separate the devices, or logical units, so they can accessed by the SCSI, iSCSI or the Fibre Channel protocol.

  • In computer storage, the logical unit number, or  the LUN, is  number used to identify the logical unit, which is the device addressed by the SCSI protocol or Storage Area Network protocols which encapsulate the SCSI, such that as Fibre Channel or iSCSI.

  • The LUN is used with any of the devices which supports the read/write operations, such as tape drive, but is one of the most often used to refer to the logical disk as a created on SAN. Though not  the technically correct, the term "LUN" is often also used to refer the logical disk itself.

Hence the answer is option  B) To compare numbers.
