When pollination occurs in flowers, the pollen grain which are stuck to the stigma begins to outgrow a structure (can't exactly remember the name of it. if you're in class 12th CBSE board, refer to sexual reproduction in flowering plants chapter).It then gets into the ovary then fertilizes the ovules present in it and then an embryo is formed.
