To find : sum of rational numbers \frac{10}{2}  and \frac{6}{3} .

Solution:

  •  To find the sum of given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM = 6
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get,
  • \frac{10}{2} + \frac{6}{3}

       \frac{10\times 3}{6} + \frac{6\times 2}{6}  \\ = \frac{30}{6} + \frac{12}{6}  \\= \frac{30 + 12 }{6}\\= \frac{42}{6}   \\= 7

Hence, sum of \frac{10}{2}  and \frac{6}{3} is 7 .
