After the Revolt of 1857(First War of Independence), Indian Government Act of 1858 was enacted also called Act of Good Governance in India.After that several things changed like
a)Governor-General of India was changed into Viceroy of India--Responsible of British Crown in India and Lord Canning was first to hold that post
b)A New Office of "Secretory of State for India" established with civilian authority over all India was made in London and 15-member council was made to assist him.
After that many great individuals were born in India.They struggled for our freedom like--Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, MK Gandhi, VB Patel, J Nehru, SC Bose, Bhagat Singh, MM Malviya etc..
