Question:-

What is the result of subtracting the second equation from the first?

2x + 7y = -8 ----------(1)

2x - 5y = -1 -----------(2)

Formula Used- Elimination Method

Answer:-

→ 2x - 5y = -1 - ( 2x + 7y = -8 )

→  -2x - 7y = +8

   +2x - 5y = -1

→ 0x -12y = 7

→ y = \frac{7}{12}

→ From Equation (1)

2x + 7 × \frac{7}{12} = -8

x = \frac{-145}{24}

x = 6.0416
