Please read it till the end.

Few decades after the revolt of 1857, Indians started realising their needs and wants (especially those who went abroad for studies and lived a free liberal life there and when they returned back they were disheartened by the conditions prevailing here). They are usually regarded as MODERATES by the historians because of their belief that British are good and if we cooperate and request they will grant us our needs. However the British were exactly the contrary.

Slowly they realised that their method of PLEASE is not working. They turned bitter against the British. The British realised the harm of the possible outcome. So they appointed A.O.Hume with a plan to divert their attention in organising an all India party, the Congress.

Little did they know about the role this party was going to play in the fight for independence.

So we say that Allan Octavia Hume (A.O.Hume) is the father of the Indian National Congress.
