Alveoli are the small air sacs in the lungs. There are about 350 million alveoli in our lungs. Alveoli are the spaces where blood collects oxygen and releases carbon dioxide . The oxygen fron the alveoli enters the blood through capillaries and the carbon dioxide from the blood passes into the alveoli.
