what is the role of appendix in our body??? does it plays any role.?​

Vermiform appendix is the vestigial organ in human's body.

No , now-a-days vermiform appendix does not play any role but in stone age like time period, when human used to eat raw flesh then it was useful because it contains some bacteria which helps in digestion of raw meat.

In older days humans used to have raw food. So to digest cellulose, enzyme cellulase was secreted by appendix in the intestine of individual. So, Ideal function of vermiform appendix in human body was Digestion of cellulose.

But now-a-days it's vestigial organ in humans body. As it don't play any role.
