Troponin has high affinity towards Calcium. The Calcium ions will bind to Troponin causing a change in its shape and position. This in turn alters the shape and position of Tropomyosin. The Troponin – Tropomyosin complex is
consequently deactivated. As a result active sites on Actin filaments become uncovered.
