Respiration:-

The process of break down of glucose to produce energy is called respiration.

Breathing:-

The processes of inhalation and exhalation are together known as Breathing.

Diaphragm:-

It is a dome shaped muscle present between lungs and stomach.

Diaphragm plays an important role in Breathing:-

1. Diaphragm contacts itself so as to provide a larger area for lungs to expand.

2. The pushing and pulling of our lungs are possible because of diaphragm, and hence lungs without diaphragm are useless.

3. It also helps to separate thoracic cavity from abdominal cavity.
