The diaphragm is located between the chest cavity and the abdomen. It plays an important role in our breathing process as it is key to aiding movement of our lungs for resperation. When we exhale, the diaphragm pushes upward. This forced our chest cavity to get smaller, which pushes the air in our lungs out.
