An enzyme is a type of protein found within a cell that create chemical reactions in the body. which usually speed up the rate of a chemical reaction.

The enzymes in your body help to perform very important tasks. These include building muscle, destroying toxins, and breaking down food particles during digestion. They work with other chemicals in the body, such as stomach acid and bile, to help break down food into molecules for a wide range of bodily functions. Carbs, proteins and fats are usually broken down into simpler products,ie, glucose, amino acids and fatty acids+ glycerol respectively by these enzymes. Hence, then afterwards these simple products are used by our body as energy for sporting daily life processes.

Answer:

1. Digestive enzymes play a key role in breaking down the food we eat so that the simple particles can be easily absorbed by the blood and thus transported to all the cells of the body.

2. Digestive enzymes helps in digesting complex food materials into simpler molecules for absorption by the body.

3. Enzymes catalyze all kinds of chemical reactions that are involved in growth, blood coagulation, healing, diseases, breathing, digestion, reproduction, and many other biological activities.

4. They work with other chemicals in the body, such as stomach acid and bile, to help break down food into molecules for a wide range of bodily functions.

5. Carbs, proteins and fats are usually broken down into simpler products,ie, glucose, amino acids and fatty acids+ glycerol respectively by these enzymes.
