Answer:

HCL acid has mainly these functions in our stomach-

  1. It kills the foreign particles coming with the food

2. It makes the food acidic for the proper functioning of pepsin.

If hydrochloric acid is not secreted then the enzyme pepsin will not be activated and the proteins will be not broken into peptones

ANSWER

Role of hydrochloric acid in stomach :

1) HCl makes the medium of stomach acidic for the working of pepsin enzyme .

2) HCl kills the microbes entering in the organism of body with food .

If HCl will not be secreted in the stomach then , pepsin enzyme will not work because it only works in acidic medium and hence , complete breakdown of protein will not take place .
