tendril is a modified stem, leaf, or petiole. They are typically more round than flat and function to hold the plant up as it grows. Their movement is caused by differential growth on the part of thetendril which is not in contact with anything.........

hope helped. ....

Leaf Tendrils may support the plant as it climbs up a structure, it allows a plant to find a more suitable area to grow ( more light) and it also attaches the plant to a substrate.
